Most Quranic words are derived from a three-letter (triliteral) root. And
each triliteral Arabic root can be transformed into one
of Twelve possible verb forms. The verbs that do not take extra letters with the Triliteral Root are called ﺛﹹﻠﺎﺛﻲ ﻣﹹﺠﺮﹼﺩ or Pure Triliteral Verbs.
The verbs that take extra letters with the Triliteral Root are called ثلاثي مزيد فيه or Triliteral with extra letters.
The verbs that take extra letters with the Triliteral Root are called ثلاثي مزيد فيه or Triliteral with extra letters.
The Quranic Verb Form II is made up of
doubling the medial letter of the trilateral root. For example كَذَبَ becomes كَذَّبَ. That means
an extra كَ is added in the middle in the above example.
The Verbal Noun is constituted on
the structure ( تَفْعِيْلُ ) So the Verbal Noun of the
above Verb is ( تَكْذِيْبُ )
In the whole Quran, there are 1615
words on this Form II. Out of them 1300 are verbs and the rest are Nouns and
Adjectives. But without repetition, there are only 171 Verbs on this FORM. Here
is a list of of those 171 Verbs with their frequency and meanings.
